There is a revolution ongoing in northern Syria, where the Kurdish Liberation Movement helped to create an autonomous zone outside the Nation-State and capitalist system. Based on ideas of liberation of women, social ecology and direct democracy among people organized in communes, the revolution of Rojava is proposing new ways of think and organize the society.

(about the talk)

After one year working in Rojava, we will share experiences about the situation there, looking at this revolution from different perspectives. We will put special focus on the women movement and the different initiatives they are developing, also in the ecological project that we started and the campaign 'Make Rojava Green Again'. We will also discuss about problems and needs Rojava is facing in relation with technology, sharing some initiatives and projects ongoing. And we will also some time for questions and debate.

Hay una revolución en marcha en el norte de Siria, donde el Movimiento de Liberación Kurdo ha ayudado a crear una zona autónoma fuera del sistema capitalista y el modelo de Estado-Nación. Basado en ideas de liberación de las mujeres, ecología social y democracia directa entre personas organizadas en comunas, la revolución de Rojava propone nuevas formas de pensar y organizar la sociedad.

Tras un año trabajando en Rojava, compartiremos experiencias sobre la situación allí, mirando esta revolución desde diferentes perspectivas. Nos enfocaremos especialmente en el movimiento de mujeres y las diferentes iniciativas que están desarrollando, también en el proyecto ecológico que iniciamos y en la campaña 'Make Rojava Green Again'. También discutiremos sobre los problemas y necesidades que afectan Rojava en relación con la tecnología, compartiendo algunas iniciativas y proyectos en curso. Y también tendremos tiempo para preguntas y debate.
